Vodia PBX
is there a way to Bypass Media You mean that phone A sends RTP directly to phone B, not through the PBX? we are ruining pbxnsip and we need a way to control all the trunks from all the servers in one place I don't get the point here. jlumby
I would find this option very usefull. If you no not need or have a license to record/wisper/bardge, why put the RTP load on the PBX. Can this be accomplished as easily as a second entry in the VIA field?
Vodia PBX
I would find this option very usefull. If you no not need or have a license to record/wisper/bardge, why put the RTP load on the PBX. Can this be accomplished as easily as a second entry in the VIA field? It is not easy. The PBX does not just pass the media through. It also takes care about NAT/SBC, about SRTP decoding/encoding/transcoding, codec transcoding, packet length conversion, DTMF transcoding (inband/out of band/INFO), busy tone detection, gain measurement, call recording, barge/teach/intercept, one way media detection, RTCP-XR (QoS) measurement, did I forgot something? How can you do this without the PBX in the loop? It is class 5, not class 4. After all.
hosted
What you are asking for is the job of a sip switch. one place to route traffic to multiple trunks.
