xy3
Desperately need some step-by-step instruction as to how to manually update a snom SoHo unit. The 'admin' panel features only an 'upgrade button', bringing the unit to the current stable release. There are many instances where a manual upgrade to a specific version is needed. Yes, we are aware there is a short, terse, generalized passage at the bottom of this page: http://wiki.snomone.com/index.php?title=Upgrades#General_manual_upgrade_guidelines_for_Linux_based_systems But for the non-Linux techs, or even those unfamiliar with the SoHo build, more detailed instruction would be a great help. PLEASE ADVISE ASAP. Many thanks in advance for your kind attention!
xy3
Found and installed an older 'SSH Secure Shell' tool the PBXNSIP folk appear to have made use of. Appears to run on Win7 box okay. Struggling to establish SSH session with our SoHo.. What is correct port? Username = root? Password = ??? Just a little bit of help would get us going. Please reply! pbx support
The update is ready now. So you can just click on the update button on the SoHo and it should take care of it.

skyplonk
IT WORKS!! IT WORKS !! Fabulous. Perfect. We love you! THANK YOU!! An answer the the first question would be good tho, how do you do a manual upgrade? We have SOHO's that are on a private tail and the automatic upgrade system is not going to work.. pbx support
If you know little bit of Linux (how to ssh and use terminal window) and login to SoHo, the link in the first post explains how to do it.
Vodia PBX
SSH runs on port 8722. I guess this is to improve the security of the system by obscurity...
Steve B
SSH runs on port 8722. I guess this is to improve the security of the system by obscurity... Some residential ISPs (Like ATT wireless) block port 22 may be an additional reason. This is a good thing to remember if you set up your own Linux box.
