batch update extensions

hi there,

 

i am sure this was asked before but i cannot find any info.

 

how would i set extension settings to more than one extension.

for example changing the dial plan for all extensions in a domain.

There is the possibility to upload a CSV file; that one may "nuke" the accounts (which is what you probably don't want) or to just update the settings that you include. http://wiki.snomone.com/index.php?title=Using_CSV_Files has some more information.

You can use the CSV to import this information for all extension.

 

you can type this information into a spread excel spreadsheet,!Notice! that type,alias;ani... are just the parameter settings or the"Editing Extension" on the pbx and the values are below, example

type of account =extension

type if alias = extension number

 

type;alias;ani;password;web_pass;first_name;display_name;mb_pin;email_address;mac

extensions;650;9786501234;1234;1234;Fred;Feuerstein;1234;ff@abc.com;000BBBCCCDDDD

extensions;651;9786511234;1234;1234;Carl;Clever;1234;cc@abc.com;000BBBCCCDDDE

to import the "Include the cell phone in calls to extension" parameter into csv format, you can enter the following

 

cell_time

value in seconds 5

MR X, I want to import multiple dialplans - is this possible? Each account/extension has their own dialplan.

This is possible but it has to be tested on 4.5 1st since the practical settings are expose on the csv files.

Changed are a little bit more difficult on the PBX than on regular web pages. Maybe we should use the opportunity that we have a new web page snomone.com to get used to the mechanisms and then "port" them over into the PBX. HTML5 is definitively the next big thing also for the PBX.
