voltier
Since upgrading to version 57 (from 56), it appears the ability to reboot phones via the console no longer works.
Vodia PBX
This is because one of our customers demanded that we must not include the reboot=true flag because that does not work with certain Polycom phones firmware.
voltier
any way around this? Most of our customers are either on Snom or Yealink handsets. Touchless provisioning is somewhat useless if we cant reboot the device remotely.
voltier
Ok, turns out that the 'resync the selected accounts' function does the job for me. I was making changes to the custom config files and wanted to apply some changes and couldnt figure out how to do it.
ahennis@voicespring.net
When you say console do you mean from a login shell or from the web GUI? How do I change this behavior? Why not just make it a configurable parameter or allow it per domain, phone vendor and/or phone model?
Support
Hi, You are right. One option can be to "re-sync the selected accounts" And other one can be under the "registration" tab of each extensions where you can re-sync it too. Vodia PBX
We will roll back that unfortunate change. IMHO users that use that firmware version from Polycom should just upgrade their phones.
ahennis@voicespring.net
We will roll back that unfortunate change. IMHO users that use that firmware version from Polycom should just upgrade their phones. So there is not way to set this new feature on or off in some sort of config file? With a "feature" like this it would probably be a programming best practice to make it user configurable.
voltier
@Ahennis - Referring to the WebUI @Admin - does this mean you will be reverting the behavior to what it was previously and the Polycom use case will be managed seperately? Vodia PBX
We were sending an event check-sync;reboot=true which was kind of working fine everywhere, until we were urged to take the reboot=true out for a customer. Seems that was a bad idea; we have already rolled it back; the next builds will use the good old style to do this.
