If this is a simple network, don't mess with routing on the machine. First put your phone system IP address in the DMZ of your firewall. Next let’s login to pbxnsip and configure. Now we want to click on Settings, then Ports. Let’s set SIP IP Replacement List: with the IP address of the pbxnsip server separated by a forward slash then the public IP address of your WAN. Here is an example: 192.168.1.152/24.49.49.16.You can now click Save. you will have to restart pbxnsip service. try that.

okay, i see why your suggesting CE. Lower priced ARM systems would be available. Hmmm. My opinion would be just get snom ONE so that one does not need to drop to the O/S to administrate it--then the shevvaplug/ any linux version is okay. Very few improvements would need to be made imho to get snom ONE "like the fireware on a linksys router". some thoughts, Matt

I think maybe we have 2 conversations going here (possibly ;-) I'm talking about calmly engineering a nice, small snom ONE server that runs on Windows with all the time in the world. I think you need a solution ASAP. Okay, windows 7 embedded standard is standard windows 7 componentized. Windows 7 embbeded COMPACT is actually window CE and runs on ARM. i think you'll spend a lot of time trying to make Windows Embed run on Sheevaplug. (unless someone has done it already) And I don't think snom will really want to make a snom ONE for ARM build? So really cheap and ASAP is probably not going to both happen. ;-) The cheapest and quickest that i can think of that runs on windows: -Microsoft Proliant Microserver ($349 +windows license)

And I think they mentioned in the last one they want to have them once a month. So you may be good there. I agree that posting old sessions would be good. "boston training..." maybe we say hello there. We have a brilliant tech at our company that wants to attend. I may accompany to take "vacation" ;-), learn from other partners and get to know snom ONE team better. We'll see. Stephen, "complete transparency..." Wikileaks? ;-) Joking aside, I've worked with other pbx vendors and I have to say pbxnsip/snom has proven to be the most transparent software pbx company I've worked with. Sometimes personel don't know what company policy is or policy changes but they have always be frank and open/approachable about bugs/limitations. And I should say, in comparison to other products out there this pbx is quite bug free. ;-) "Snom One provides Plug and Play with "all" Snom phones..." Hey, I wouldn't pound snom for this. It was an honest bug that just needed a fix. So they do provide pnp for all snom phones... (except vision...and i guess that isnt a "phone" per say) "There should also be release notes with each download item..." This one I would agree with. If you use Nexvortex SIP trunk I can give you an exact configuration that works. I really think that SIP trunk providers should email an standard XML file to client that SIP PBX's can import to take away this fiddly stuff... Matt

I really think there ought to be a notification inside snom ONE that says "hey admin, there is a newer version you should get." And he can pick the right time and click "update" and the job is done. Just a small suggestion that could perhaps avoid this type go around? telling users to update, then where to find the update? then how to update? Take a look at how blink (www.icanblink.com) does their updates, very proactive--they even let the user know what will change. very proactive. Just as verification for Stephen--I just provisioned a snom 821 on snom ONE and it worked flawlessly. Is there any chance that the snom 3xx's are on one switch and the 8xx is on another that is not passing multicast nicely? just a thot.

not sure. I checked a while ago and it didn't look like it. I was saying if you are going to move to CE consider Windows Embedded instead. Since no porting required. Windows version would work.

pbxnsip, Nah, nah don't do that. (CE) Take a look a windows 7 embedded. This is really Windows7 bit for bit. One of my findings: sheeva plug is really nice hardware, but because you really need to drop to O/S to do various things for snom ONE, not a great fit for us "Windows" people. Just my thought. Matt

Tom, I would watch the lan to lan calls. This is the simplest. Any chance you could put the pbx server on its own server hardware just to eliminate virtualization as an issue?

Tom, Want our team to give a crack at it? I doubt it is an inherently Windows issue. But: -any virtualization going on? -any chance switch is finicky? -are the 10 people coming into the conference call on LAN phones? -are the ext. to ext. calls that are breakin up on same lan? just some ideas to get you going in the meantime.
