  1. I look forward to learning PBXnSIP vs. 3CX. Went round and round trying to get 3CX to call a cell phone for X number of seconds, it never would return back to the PBX, just kept ringing. PBXnSIP works as expected so that is a relief. We are going to be migrating from RingCentral (excellent company by the way). I will be testing PBXnSIP all next week to make sure it dots every "i". Looks good so far from my hour or so of playing around.

    I'm curious how long this post will last/survive over there?

    We'll see.

  2. you will find pbxnsip to be very full featured and very solid. pbxnsip has a ton of features--and they work solid. You will likely find that pbxnsip takes a little longer to get your head around. Don't let the initial turn you away--great product.

    My suggestion is go with v3.4 (as v4 is beta at the moment) to get the best experience.

    (incidentally I've co-authored the only book on 3CX so I've had a little experience with the product) I saw your posts over there. ;-) I have a pbxnsip tutorial book in-progress... what i currently have is available for $99 as pdf...to speed your learning...

  3. I also noticed that each extension's passwords and PINs are unencrypted in the XML files in the /extensions folder.

    the pbx files should be secured by the o/s. In other words, if you have access to the console of the machine, then you probably should be able to see that? don't you agree?

  4. You can have a list of service flags and a list of destinations like this:

    Flags: 123 #R 124

    Destination: 456 457 458

    Then when flag 123 fires, the redirection goes to 456, else when flag #R fires, the redirection goes to 457, else when flag 124 fires, the redirection goes to 458.

    wow, that is really impressive and powerful.

  5. I'm sure this is simple. in past i've only done single domain pbxnsip. NOw i want to understand multitenant for a 200 user system we are working on.

    I have 2 pbxnsip domains. both in the same lan. (to keep things simple)

    This is how i register xlite on the first domain

    username=301

    password=301

    authorization username=301

    domain=192.168.1.152

    How do i register an xlite to (for example) extension 200 on a second domain called "company2.pbx.com"?

    thanks,

    Matt
