VitaminJ Posted February 24, 2021 Report Posted February 24, 2021 Another feature request we've had from the users we've deployed this for is the ability to minimize to tray. I'd be pretty keen to see this also. Quote
Vodia PBX Posted February 24, 2021 Report Posted February 24, 2021 Yes we had discussed that internally. It is a little bit counter intuitive to other applications running on the PC (close means end the application), but for VoIP the user expectation is that the application just goes out of sight. If the user really wants to end the application they will have to dig in some menu to make that happen. Quote
Enzo Matrix Posted March 27, 2021 Report Posted March 27, 2021 Is it possible to have the application set at install to run as a service or something similar? A lot of my conversions from 3CX are rightfully saying that was a descent feature, that they install the app and it auto runs, and it is pretty much always logged in unless they tell it to logout. With a PBX, you want this sort of functionality with your softphone. Quote
Vodia PBX Posted March 29, 2021 Report Posted March 29, 2021 If I remember correctly having an application start after login in Windows is easy, maybe there is a way to set this programmatically and if that is so, we should do that along with the close/minimize button. Quote
Enzo Matrix Posted March 29, 2021 Report Posted March 29, 2021 Thanks! One main problem is that it is too easy to close the Vodia app on windows. Quote
Brett Davey Posted April 12, 2021 Report Posted April 12, 2021 This is something that I had also requested in a different thread. All the recent updates to the app have been great so thank you for those as they have have addressed most of our concerns around the app. We are just concerned about now deploying this to our customers and they close the app without realising it and as a result missing incoming calls which could result in loss of revenue. Quote
anton Posted October 20, 2021 Report Posted October 20, 2021 We have this feature implemented for the macOS app and already working on adding to the Windows app too. Quote
Gogsm Posted October 21, 2021 Report Posted October 21, 2021 While you are it, could also add possibility for App to automatically reconnect especially after internet loss. Quote
Ramon Posted October 27, 2022 Report Posted October 27, 2022 I'm glad I found this thread. Any word on progress with this? Minimize to tray and launch on Windows startup are essential features for my clients. As it is, we can't roll out the Vodia Windows app for our users. I'm trying to get Linphone to work, and have had some success with remote provisioning. Vodia would be considerably more viable for us with these two features. Thank you! Quote
claritytech Posted February 2, 2023 Report Posted February 2, 2023 We are also looking at moving to VODIA but our users are accustomed to the minimize to tray and not accidently closing by clicking X. Any progress on this? Thanks! Quote
Vodia PBX Posted February 6, 2023 Report Posted February 6, 2023 We do have updated app versions in the pipeline which will include the close button handling. Quote
anton Posted February 21, 2023 Report Posted February 21, 2023 This feature is finally available with the latest update of the Windows Store App: https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/vodia-phone/9NTKSQFKC1ZT Quote
Brett Davey Posted March 16, 2023 Report Posted March 16, 2023 Has there been any further update on this subject as i believe that it is still an active request to be able to minimise to the system tray rather than close the application Quote
claritytech Posted March 17, 2023 Report Posted March 17, 2023 It's been working for us in the latest release of the Windows App. Quote
Brett Davey Posted March 20, 2023 Report Posted March 20, 2023 thank you all, I have just update via the Microsoft store and confirmed the feature now works Quote
FrederickaMckenzie Posted April 11, 2023 Report Posted April 11, 2023 Hey I recently updated the latest version and it's working .... Quote
Brett Davey Posted July 20, 2023 Report Posted July 20, 2023 One of our Engineers has just reported the below issue to me related to the app being minimized to the system tray. "basically, when the user clicks the x it minimizes it to the task bar. this is normal. What isn't normal is when it is minimized and the user clicks the shortcut on their desktop / start bar it doesn't maximize the existing Vodia process. it just opens and hides a bunch of processes in the background. I have since educated the users but the App should be maximizing existing app if someone reruns the shortcut." Quote
anton Posted July 20, 2023 Report Posted July 20, 2023 Hi Brett, Thanks for the feedback. We'll try to get it updated asap. The app can be brought back from the Tray shortcut icon 1. Sometimes it hides in that menu 2. Can be dragged and fixed to be visible at all the time Quote

When our support team investigated his reported issue they found 15 Vodia sessions running in the background. Quote

We use PBX v68.0.30 and V5.1.1 desktop app. The desktop shortcut now does nothing if the app is already open, you can only manage it from the taskbar if it is closed. Quote
anton Posted July 21, 2023 Report Posted July 21, 2023 Yes, that's correct. I did some digging and looks like we overlooked the part where the app should come to the foreground once the desktop shortcut is clicked. Will try to push that update next week. Will keep you posted. Quote
